First time manager

As per research one of the most difficult transition is when one moves from being an individual contributor to managing other people. The role of a first level manager is the most critical irrespective of industry as they form the last link in the chain of effective execution. The program is designed to develop five critical competencies required to succeed in this role over a 7 month period. The design incorporates 10 contact days during the course of the program of which 5 days are exploring the five critical competencies, two days for sharing experiences with other participants and action learning, two days for group coaching and one day for presentation of the projects. The five competencies which will be covered during the program are Effective communication to include presentation skills, Interpersonal effectiveness to include persuasion and influence, problem solving and decision making, Managing performance and Team work and collaboration. The first action learning session is scheduled after the first threes workshops and the second after the fifth workshop . At the end of the workshops the participants implement a project at their workplace using the learning of the program. Two days of group coaching are scheduled during the project implementation stage to help the participants achieve the goals of their respective projects . Detailed program design is given below
